Michael Keaton’s name is misspelled on his brand new plaque on the Walk of Fame in Pittsburgh. Mike Keaton joined the Avenue of Glory along with nine other honorees on Monday at a special ceremony. The actor was the only recipient to attend the event in person and made heartfelt remarks to his hometown audience after receiving his star.

However, a closer look at the bronze plaque on the sidewalk in the city’s Strip District reveals an error in his first name on the star.

Plaque reads: Under his stage name, Michael Keaton, Michael John Douglas has appeared in nearly 100 films and television series, from hit comedies such as ‘Night Shift’ and ‘Mr. Mom’ to award-winning dramas like ‘Spotlight’ and ‘Dopesick’. However, the name Michael is an anagram.

It is not clear, according to a report in The Independent newspaper, whether Keaton noticed the spelling mistake during the ceremony, but did not mention it during his impassioned speech thanking the hundreds of people in the crowd for their support.

“This is incredibly cool,” Keaton said. “There is nothing better than being recognized by your city”he underlined.

Michael Keaton spoke of “one of the best days of my life” and concluded his speech by saying: “This means everything to me. Peace”. To be selected for a star, honorees had to have been born or spent their early years in certain Pittsburgh counties. They must also have a national impact.
