THE Amber Heard (Amber Heard) says she will stay away from social media as she prepares to face her ex-husband Johnny Depp in court.
The actress shared a statement on Instagram about the impending trial, following a lawsuit filed against her by Depp for defamation in a 2018 Washington Post article about how Herd survived episodes of domestic violence she was living through.
“I will be offline for the next few weeks. “As you may know, I will be in Virginia, where I will face my ex-husband Johnny Depp in court,” Herd wrote. “Johnny is suing me for an article I wrote in the Washington Post, in which I recounted my experience of violence and domestic abuse.”
“I never named him, I probably wrote about the price women pay because they speak openly against men’s power. I continue to pay that price, but I hope that when this case is over, I will be able to move on, as Johnny did. “I always have a love for Johnny and it causes me a lot of pain that we have to live the details of our previous life together in front of the world”, he continued.
Depp and Herd first met while filming “The Rum Diaries” in 2011 and married in 2015. They divorced in May 2016 after Herd called for restrictive domestic violence against Depp and accused him of abuse.
While he denied abusing Herd, she eventually filed for divorce in 2016. The settlement was settled out of court in August of that year with the divorce finalized in January 2017.
