A gang that systematically committed thefts in St. Petersburg was dismantled

They were arrestedevening hours of 7-4-2022 in Kamatero, by police officers of Immediate Action (DI.AS Team), two (2) locals aged 16 and 18 yearsas members of a criminal organization, accused of criminal organization, distinguished theft by conspiracy and by continuing and robbery.

Another member of the gang has been identified and is wanted.

Shortly before their arrest, they were found riding in a vehicle in Kamatero and after a search, they were found in possession of the keys of a two-wheeled motorcycle, which was found carefully hidden near the spot.

According to the investigation, the motorcycle had recently been stolen from the area of ​​St. Petersburg and had been used as a means for another car theft-burglary in Kamatero.

From November 2021, a number of thefts were observed (vehicles, pedestrian thefts, homes and shops) in the St. Petersburg area. For this purpose, a special team of police officers was set up by the St. Petersburg Security Department, which, after a thorough investigation, revealed the activities of a criminal group and identified its members.

From the pre-investigation investigation of the above Service, with the assistance of the Directorate of Criminological Investigations, the physical presence of the above in a number of thefts was identified.

In total pedestrian robberies, -6- shoplifting, -2- house thefts and -8- vehicle thefts (-6- cars, motorcycle and electric bicycle) were investigated in the areas of Petroupoli, Kamatero and P. Faliro.

The arrested were taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor.
