In ‘Pantanal’, Jesuita Barbosa reports scare with criticism of Jove: ‘Stoned guy’

by

Jesuita Barbosa, 30, arrived at Camarote Folia Tropical, one of the most starred on the second night of Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, in a hurry. “I need to go to the bathroom because I’m pissing myself,” he told the report. Sheet.

The actor only had time to comment on what he thought of Carnival out of season, because of the postponement caused by the pandemic.

“It seems that we have a different thermometer, our clock is used to the holidays, with things on time”, he rambled. “And it seems that this one has changed, so everyone is more estranged. But I think that’s what Carnival is all about, it’s part of being strange and deconstructing.”

Despite his presence in the revelry, he does not consider himself a great reveler. “I wanted to be a carnival artist, but I admire them a lot,” he says. “It’s not a dream, but I’ll still [desfilar].”

Asked about the repercussion of the soap opera “Pantanal” (Globo), in which the vegan Jove lives, he said that the soap opera was a success and promised to continue the conversation after relieving himself.

When leaving the bathroom, he preferred to dodge the reporter and enter the crowd that watched the Portela parade in the external area of the box, close to the dance floor. However, the joy was short-lived, as he had to go back to take posed photos for the official photographer of the cabin.

It was only then that he opened up more about the criticism of his character, who became a meme for being too laid-back and whose characterization didn’t seem to convince as someone a few years younger than him.

“It has a lot of criticism, something very reactive nowadays”, he laments. “People watch it already saying what it is and I think ‘Pantanal’ is a saga, we need some time to understand everything that happens. The characters are developing – I’m defending mine now.”

He confesses to being scared by what he saw on social media. “I went to see Twitter and left,” he commented. “I was kind of stoned. But I like bad reviews too, it’s exciting for us.”

He believes that part of the criticism is due to the fact that the first phase of the telenovela was very successful. “Nobody wanted it to end,” he says.

Jesuit says he identifies with Jove at some points “In family, sexual relationships”, he lists. “Funny how it communicates with today’s generations”, he reflects.

“Twenty-something boys have very strong sexual freedom,” he says. “Although the government now dictates something opposite to that. But people up to 25 years old, which is Jove’s age, are very free. .”

The actor denied that he is in a relationship with actress Alanis Guillen, 23, who plays Juma in the soap opera, a fact that has recently made headlines on celebrity websites. “I’m accompanied by my mom, she’s here, man,” he says.

For him, some people still confuse reality and fiction. “People do that,” he says. “I think it’s great, I hope it fuels the soap opera and people watch it because of that too.”
