With the Women In Motion award is going to honor the American actress and producer, Viola Davis at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The luxury brand Kering has announced that it will present the Women in Motion 2022 Award to the actress during the Cannes Film Festival on May 22.
The Golden Globe winner The actress is recognized for her dedication to the entertainment industry, as well as her commitment to the rights of women and minorities, with the luxury house calling her “one of the most influential American actresses and producers of her time.”
Davis has become known for her work on social issuesexpressing its support for movements such as #MeToo and has raised the issue of lack of diversity in film and television production through speeches, public campaigns and initiatives.
The award will be presented during the Women in Motion Dinner by Kering’s President and CEO François-Henri Paynethe President of the Cannes Film Festival, Pierre Lesquier, and its Executive Director, Thierry Fremo.
Launched in 2015, the Women in Motion program continues to highlight the contribution of women to culture and the arts, having previously recognized Salma Hayek, Gong Lee and Jane Fonda.
