The Artpèges gallery announced the sale of guitar who participated in the dissolution of the English rock band Oasis.
In 2009 at the Rock en Seine Festival in Paris, the Liam Gallagher broke his Gibson ES 355, Noel Gallagher’s brother and this was the turning point for collapse of the band.
The guitar was later repaired, the 2011 but there are mixed feelings about the result of repairing the damaged musical instrument and its original broken form.
Jonathan Berg of Artpèges comments on the incident as a “cult moment” in the history of music. With an initial offer at the price of 190,000 dollars (150,000 euros) the guitar was finally sold $ 405,000 (€ 385,000).
The commemorative musical instrument accompanies a note written by Noel Gallagher stating that it was his favorite guitar used in concerts and recordings.

The band Oasis, formed by the Gallagher brothers, is considered the most representative of the Britpop movement of the 1990s and was a worldwide success, selling 60 million albums with hits such as “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger”.
The auction, held at the Drouot Hotel in Paris, also sold a leather suit and chains worn by Martin Gore of the British band Depeche Mode, which was bought for 15,528 euros, and a vinyl record signed by Jimmy Hendrix and Johnny Halliday. .
