The professor emphasized that many cases will still be recorded for some time

Speaking to SKAI and on the show “Today”the pulmonology professor Theodoros Vasilakopoulos.

Mr. Vasilakopoulos emphasized that for for some time there will still be a lot recorded cases citing three reasons why this happens:

  • The lifting of all measures across Europe, which was done to allow society to function normally again
  • Simultaneous prevalence of Omicron 4 -5 subvariants which he said he did not expect to prevail so quickly
  • It has been quite some time since the 3rd dose, and as the months pass since the vaccination coverage, it decreases

About the benefits of the fourth installment he emphasized, that based on the small studies that exist, it protects young people to 50% from presenting a symptom.

While he said that it is scientifically proven that those over 50 who have been vaccinated with 4 doses face 4 times less risk of dying, compared to those who have been vaccinated with 4 doses. “The message must be consistent,” commented the professor about the 4th installment. “We have no tools other than masks, vaccines and pills,” he added.

Finally, regarding monkey pox, he explained that there is no cause for concern as the average person is not at risk from this particular disease.
