The couple diagnosed with the omicron variant of the new coronavirus is in isolation in the home of relatives in the city of São Paulo along with four other family members, three adults and one child.
Both the couple, who are asymptomatic, and their adult relatives took the two doses of the vaccine against Covid-19, according to the municipal secretary of Health, Edson Aparecido.

The 41-year-old man and the 37-year-old woman are missionaries in South Africa, according to Aparecido.
According to the secretary, the Health folder is now seeking to track people who had contact with the two. “From the day of Covid’s diagnosis, the two have gone into isolation,” he said.
The couple’s family, also isolated, will be tested this Wednesday afternoon to find out if they are also with Covid.
According to information from Anvisa, the 41-year-old man landed in Guarulhos on November 23, coming from South Africa, with a negative RT-PCR test.
To prepare for the return trip, he sought out a unit of the Albert Einstein Hospital laboratory, in the terminal, on November 25, in the company of his wife.
In tests that day, both were diagnosed positive for Covid-19. The result was then notified to the Cievs-SP (Strategic Information Center on Health Surveillance of São Paulo), a state agency.
In view of the positive results, Albert Einstein took the initiative to carry out the genetic sequencing of the samples.
A third patient with Covid-19 who passed through South Africa is awaiting test results from the Adolfo Lutz Institute. A resident of Guarulhos, the 29-year-old man arrived in Brazil on Saturday and, according to the city of Greater São Paulo, is also in isolation.
