Brazil completes 15 days with drop in average deaths from Covid

Brazil completed 15 days in a row with a drop in the moving average of deaths by Covid. With the 131 deaths recorded this Friday (2), the average is now 124 per day, a 19% reduction compared to the data of two weeks ago.

The country also had 13,180 cases of the disease this Friday. As a result, Brazil has lost 684,334 lives and 34,505,351 people infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of cases now stands at 19,893, up 26% from two weeks earlier. Case values ​​increased after the consortium changed the source used for data from Rio Grande do Norte.

The country data, collected up to 8 pm, are the result of collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and publish figures related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected by the consortium of press vehicles daily with the State Health Departments.

In all, 180,830,993 people received at least the first dose of a vaccine against Covid in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine against Covid, there are already 170,187,218 people with both doses or with one dose of Janssen vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 84.17% of the population with the 1st dose and 79.22% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine.

So far, 102,661,530 people have taken the third dose and 28,272,780 the fourth.

Even those who received both doses or one dose of the Janssen vaccine should maintain basic care, such as wearing a mask and social distancing, say experts.
