The latest on the course of the coronavirus pandemic in Greece according to the weekly report of the EODY
There are 40,100 new cases of coronavirus in Greece, according to the weekly report of the EODY.
The new deaths reached 180, while 101 patients are hospitalized with intubation.

In the reference week, 40,100 cases of COVID-19 were recorded (3,844 per million population: -22% weekly change) of which reinfections account for 23% of infections.
The total number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 4,804,982 of which 51.9% are women.
𝑅𝑡 for the territory based on cases is estimated at 0.85 (95% CI: 0.70 – 0.98).
The total number of admissions to the territory’s hospitals in the reference week was 981 patients (7-month period: 140, -17% weekly change), while the total number of discharges amounted to 1,028 patients (7-month period: 147, -21% weekly change).
The number of intubated patients by the end of the reference week is 101 (70.3% men) with a median age of 69 years and 96.0% having an underlying disease and/or age of 70 years or older.
In the reporting week, 180 deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded (17 per million population: -19% weekly change) of which 38 (21%) died after at least 29 days from the date of laboratory confirmation of the COVID-19 infection, while since the beginning of the epidemic, a total of 32,757 deaths have been recorded, with 96.0% having an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
In the reporting week, the positivity rate was 6.98% in a total of 574,366 laboratory tests (RT-PCR/Rapid-Ag) with a seven-day average of 82,052 samples (3% weekly change).
From January 1, 2020 to September 4, 2022, in the laboratories that carry out tests for SARSCoV-2 and that systematically declare all the samples they test, a total of 12,389,527 have been tested (7-month AD: 9,081, 2% weekly change ) clinical samples, while 79,892,488 samples have been tested by Health Units and Levels of the EODY that carry out Rapid Ag tests (7-month AD: 72,971, 3% weekly change).
In the reference week, 879 sample control actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams (COMY) of EODY, in which 56,946 Rapid Ag tests were carried out and 7,052 were found positive (12%).
