This Sunday (20), Brazil recorded nine deaths from Covid-19 and 4,300 cases of the disease. With that, the country reaches 689,003 lives lost and 35,064,320 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of deaths in the last seven days is 38, with a variation of 11%. The moving average of cases is at 15,500, a variation of 300% over the same period.

Federal District, Rio de Janeiro and Roraima did not disclose data. Acre, Bahia, Maranhão and Piauí do not update information on weekends.

The press office of the government of Espírito Santo states that “possible instability in the Covid ES Panel system” is being verified, which is why the state’s data were not included in this Sunday’s bulletin.

In April of this year, the consortium of press vehicles stopped updating information on vaccination on weekends and holidays. The measure seeks to avoid inaccuracies in the numbers reported to the reader.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and withdrew information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
