Two men died in flooding caused by heavy rains over the weekend in northwest Albania’s Skodra region, police said Sunday.
A car carrying a 50-year-old man, his 18-year-old son and his 14-year-old daughter was “swept away by the waters” that had flooded a mountain road, police explained in a press release.
The teenager was rescued by local residents, but her father and brother were not found, police added.
“We have information that the two men are dead,” an Albanian police spokesman told AFP.

Several thousand hectares of land in the regions of Skodra and Leza were flooded, with residents describing the situation as “critical”, as streams of water turned into rivers that overflowed and damaged homes and infrastructure.
