Brazil recorded 97 deaths and 14,569 cases of Covid-19 this Friday (20). As a result, since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has lost 696,245 lives and 36,727,575 cases of the disease.

The moving average of deaths is now 130 per day, down 5% from two weeks ago. The average number of cases is 14,908, down 29% compared to the same period.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between Sheet, UOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and disseminate numbers related to the coronavirus pandemic. The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.

In all, 182,605,708 people received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine in Brazil. Added to the single doses of Janssen’s vaccine, there are 172,868,582 people with both doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

Thus, the country already has 85% of the population with the first dose and 80.47% of Brazilians with two doses or one dose of Janssen’s vaccine.

So far, 108,137,930 people have already taken the third dose, and 40,033,622, the fourth.

With regard to children, 15,896,098 first doses (60.16%) were applied in the age group from 3 to 11 years and 11,098,274 second doses (42%).

The initiative by the consortium of press vehicles occurred in response to the actions of the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, which threatened to withhold data, delayed bulletins about the disease and removed information from the air, with the interruption of the disclosure of total cases and deaths.
