Gaga: Accelerates the processes of hiring sanitary and recruiting trainees

Mina Gaga from Patras spoke about the acceleration of the recruitment procedures for health workers and the placement of specialists in the context of better dealing with the pandemic in the NSS. The Deputy Minister of Health was in Achaia, Ilia and Corinth and had meetings on all issues concerning the hospitals in these areas.

According to the minister, for the upcoming announcements of new positions of medical and other health personnel, within the next month the way of announcements is expected to change, so that the procedures are completed faster.

“We maintain the platform so that there is a unified scoring system, but the crises will be made by the respective hospital so that they can proceed faster,” he said. . He stressed that the system was weakened during the years of the memoranda, but the foundations for its long-term strengthening are gradually being laid.

“The news for the health system is good. The pandemic continues and so does the pressure on hospitals, which requires us to be vigilant, adhere to measures and increase vaccination coverage. At the same time, however, we can look to the future with optimism and proceed with the changes needed to modernize the system, “said the Deputy Minister.

He reiterated that the coming weeks will be crucial for the evolution of the pandemic in the country, but most scientists believe that the end is near, as the Omicron mutation is spreading rapidly in the community, but the de-escalation is just as fast.

Ms. Gaga successively visited the hospitals of Krestena, Pyrgos, Amaliada, the General University Hospital of Patras as well as the hospitals “Agios Andreas”, Karamandaneio, and the hospital of Corinth. He also had the opportunity to see up close new departments, such as that of the ICU of Pyrgos, Bone Marrow Transplants and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University Hospital of Rio and the Day Care Unit for Rheumatic Diseases at the General Hospital of Patras “Agos Andrew”.

In meetings with administrators and executives of the medical and nursing services, Ms. Gaga was briefed on all operational issues, both in terms of the pandemic and the care of all other patients.

According to what was discussed, the goal is to upgrade health care in every region of Greece, with equal and easy access to quality health services. The planning includes the support of the care of chronic diseases everywhere in Greece, the upgrading of the Emergency Departments and the central Nursing Units. The recovery fund is a strong “ally” in this effort.
