For the third consecutive year, the A΄ Gynecology Clinic of the Metropolitan General Hospital is organizing the 3-day R-SEGA Workshop, a pioneering event dedicated to robotic surgery in gynecology.

During the R-SEGA Workshop, participants will have the opportunity to train in advanced robotic and minimally invasive gynecological surgery techniques using biological tissue simulation models.

This highly realistic practice in high precision surgical simulation will provide participants with a unique opportunity to develop their skills.

As the coordinator of this educational activity, Dr. Nikolaos Plevris, Director of the First Gynecological Clinic – Department of Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery of Metropolitan General, states, “our goal is to bring together top specialists from all over the world, in order to share knowledge, develop skills and to present the latest advances in the field of robotic surgery in gynecology.”

Education

Participating physicians will have the opportunity to perform procedures using robotic systems such as hysterectomy, fibromyectomy, oophorectomy, salpingectomy and peritoneal biopsies on models with faithful female pelvic anatomy. During the second and third day of RSEGA, minimally invasive surgery exercises will be conducted using 3 robotic systems and laparoscopic workstations.

Practical Experience

Participants will rotate through all workstations during the workshop in order to complete all exercises and procedures according to their level of expertise.

As part of the comprehensive training, it will be possible to observe gynecological robotic operations in the operating rooms of the Metropolitan General during the first day of the workshop.

This innovative training approach helps to enhance the knowledge and skills of professionals in the field of gynecological robotic surgery.

The event is under the auspices of the Hellenic Robotic Gynecological Society – HERGS, the Greek section of the Hellenic IRC, Royal College of O&G – RCOG and the Society of European Robotic Gynecological Surgery (SERGS). It is awarded with 24 points by the Panhellenic Medical Association.

The R-SEGA Workshop will take place from February 6 to 8, 2025 at Metropolitan General (264 Mesogeion Ave., Cholargos) and at Isle Academy (119 Kifisias Ave., Marousi).
