Following the significant decline of last week, the positivity for the influenza in the community is slightly increased, according to the EDY Epidemiological Report for the period March 24-30.

During the last week, two new serious cases of ICU hospitalization and four new deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza were recorded.

Regarding Covid-19, positivity is at consistently low levels. 83 new imports, three new intubations and five deaths were recorded.

Specifically in the EDYS report stated:

Fluid Subscription – ILI (regardless of pathogenic)

Severe Acute Respiratory Infection – Sari (regardless of pathogen)

The number of Sari outbreaks per 1,000 visits was reduced compared to last week.

SARS-COV2 virus-COVID-19 infection

Influenza

Following the significant decline in the previous week, the plot of influenza in the community (as estimated by the Sentinel PFI surveillance network) is slightly increasing. The positivity of the Sari Surveillance Network samples remains low, with a slight increase over the previous week.

During the last week, two new serious cases of ICU hospitalization and four new deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza were recorded. In addition, a serious case of laboratory of confirmed influenza was retroactively reported in ICU for previous week.

Overall, from the principle of influenza surveillance until March 30, 179 laboratory confirmed cases of influenza have been recorded and 68 deaths from laboratory confirmed influenza.

Among 3,876 samples (Sentinel community, Sari surveillance and hospitals outside the surveillance networks), 812 (21%) positive examples for influenza viruses were found. 799 of them were standardized, with 514 (64%) belonging to Type A and 285 (36%) in type b.

Of the 486 type A strains, 246 (51%) belonged to sub -A (H1) PDM09 and 240 (49%) to Subject A (H3).

Respiratory Syndrome – RSV

RSV’s activity remains relatively mild. The positivity to the community (Sentinel PFI surveillance network) showed a slight reduction, while Sari’s Sari Surveillance Network.
