The executive secretary of the Ministry of Health, Rodrigo Cruz, was dismissed this Wednesday (11). For the post, which is the second most important in the portfolio, President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) appointed Daniel Pereira, who was a special advisor to Minister Marcelo Queiroga.
According to the Federal Official Gazette, the exoneration took place at Cruz’s request. He is a servant of the Economy and is considering taking up a post in a pharmaceutical industry association, according to government officials.
Daniel is a career server at ANS and is approved for a vacancy as director of Anvisa. He is expected to assume this role at the end of July.
Before going to Health, Cruz was executive secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure. A public servant since 2012, he is an engineer and assumed the role in Queiroga’s portfolio in March 2021.
