(News Bulletin 247) – Nokia and Singtel today announced the first successful implementation in Asia-Pacific of IP transport slicing on an end-to-end 5G network.
This demonstration was designed to assess the solution’s capabilities to provide end-to-end service performance for different network slices and optimize network resources on demand.
Nokia’s solution will, according to the company, automate network slicing on the IP transport network to provide a better customer experience for businesses and consumers.
Tay Yeow Lian, Managing Director of Networks Singapore, Singtel, said, “With 5G network slicing, Singtel can further prioritize network resources with enhanced security to support rapid development and deployment of complex applications. ‘
“Our solution helps service providers meet the growing demand for capacity while ensuring top-notch network performance,” said Federico Guillén, president of network infrastructure at Nokia.
