(News Bulletin 247) – JetBlue today announced new nonstop service between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and two of the Caribbean’s top destinations.
JetBlue will fly from Orlando to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Santiago, Dominican Republic. After its planned combination with Spirit, JetBlue expects to reach 200 daily flights to Orlando by 2027.
“We are pleased to share with you our plans to generate more growth and more jobs in Florida through our combination with Spirit,” said Robin Hayes, CEO of JetBlue.
JetBlue estimates its plan would add about 350 new jobs to the airline’s airport operations in Orlando.
“Punta Cana and Santiago are the two top destinations in the Caribbean, but options to get there are limited for Orlando customers today,” said David Jehn, vice president, network planning and partnerships, JetBlue. “These new routes and those that will be made possible with Spirit, will allow us to offer more growth and connectivity. ‘
