(News Bulletin 247) – The Parisian index crossed this threshold this Friday morning at the opening, while corporate results continue to push the index upwards.

At this rate, the 8,000 points will clearly no longer be a taboo for the CAC 40. The Parisian index, which has been setting records since the start of the week, exceeded 7,500 points on Friday at the opening, establishing a new unprecedented mark at 7,507.79 points at 9:01 a.m.

The Parisian index has been carried since Thursday by encouraging luxury publications. LVMH shattered expectations, on the occasion of its business update unveiled on Wednesday evening, with growth of 17% over the first three months of the year. This has brought in its wake all the luxury groups, which represent nearly 40% of the total capitalization of the CAC 40.

Same scenario this Friday, where Hermès, the third capitalization of the CAC 40, gained more than 1% at the start of the session thanks to a very dynamic publication, the saddler recording growth of 23.4% like-for-like on the first three months of 2023.

The trend is also fueled by signs of a decline in inflation in the United States, with the decline published Thursday in the producer price index for the month of March. This gives hope for a next break in the US Federal Reserve (Fed) monetary tightening cycle.
