(News Bulletin 247) – The Atos board of directors and its management team on Tuesday denounced attempts to destabilize and denigrate the group following recent criticism by Leo Apotheker, the former boss of SAP.

In a press release, the company said it was surprised by the remarks of the German businessman, who violently criticized the operation of the company, while at the same time validating the strategy and the quality of its management.

“These attacks are intended solely to destabilize a group mobilized to implement its recovery and its strategy of creating value for all of its stakeholders,” he underlines.

These comments come as the investment fund Sycomore AM intends to propose at the next general meeting the dismissal of the current chairman of the board of directors, Bertrand Meunier, and his replacement by Leo Apotheker.

A current director of Schneider, Apotheker is known for having led the German software designer SAP for many years, then the American computer manufacturer HP.

However, for Liz Tinkham, administrator of Atos, a change at the head of the board of directors “would destabilize the group and would go against its social interest”.

The triumvirate composed of Nourdine Bihmane, Diane Galbe and Philippe Oliva – in charge of the operational management of the group and its transformation – evokes for its part the recovery ‘faster than announced’ of Atos.

On the Paris Stock Exchange, the Atos stock fell by 1.1% on Tuesday morning following these declarations.
