(News Bulletin 247) – Renault announced on Tuesday a 24% increase in global sales of its low-cost subsidiary Dacia in the first half, to 345,432 units, thanks to the success of the brand’s four pillar models.
Over the first six months of the year, sales of the Spring electric vehicle rose by 38%, those of the Sandero city car by 24%, those of the Duster SUV by 13% and those of the Jogger station wagon by 130%.
Sales of passenger cars alone amounted to 342,809 units, allowing the brand to record a market share of 4.7% in the segment, up 0.2 points compared to the same period. of 2022.
In geographical terms, France, Dacia’s largest market, saw a 25% increase in sales, Italy an increase of 26%, Germany a leap of 41% and Spain a gain of 40%.
On its historical core customer base, namely sales to private customers, Dacia climbed for the first time on the second step of the European podium with 8.4% market share.
Following these performances, the Renault title rose by 1.1% on Tuesday morning on the Paris Stock Exchange, signing the fourth largest increase in the CAC 40 index.
