PARIS (Reuters) – European stock markets opened on a hesitant note on Friday, with investors remaining cautious before the publication of PCE inflation in the United States.

In Paris, the CAC 40 hesitates around 7,569.06 points around 08:25 GMT. In Frankfurt, the Dax lost 0.12%, compared to a decline of 0.15% for the FTSE in London.

The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index fell by 0.15%, the EuroStoxx 50 by 0.28% and the Stoxx 600 by 0.12%.

Futures on New York indices suggest Wall Street opening lower, with the Dow Jones losing 0.34%, compared to 0.14% for the Standard & Poor’s 500 and 0.27% for the Nasdaq.

US PCE inflation, the Federal Reserve’s favorite indicator of price dynamics, is due at 1:30 p.m. GMT.

A surprise on the indicator could push markets to reassess their projections for the rate trajectory in 2024, while investors are already factoring in 155 basis points of rate cuts next year.

The University of Michigan Confidence Index is due at 1500 GMT.

In terms of values, Nexity advances 6.95%, at the top of the SBF120, after announcing on Thursday that it is in exclusive negotiations to sell its property administration activities to Bridgepoint.
