Brussels (Reuters) – The French industrialist Safran proposed corrective measures in order to obtain approval of the European competition gendarme for its purchase offer on the flight activities of Collins Aerospace, for $ 1.8 billion, according to an update of the European Commission website on Monday.
The European executive, which has not provided details in accordance with its policy, postponed the deadline from March 21 to April 4 to make a decision on the Safran offer on the American company.
It is expected that it now consults the competitors of Safran and its customers before making a decision on the measures proposed by the group.
The Commission can accept the proposal, require more concessions or open a four -month survey.
In December, Safran announced the sale of its electromechanical activation activity in North America, the group declaring that the operation was linked to the acquisition of Collins.
In February, the EU asked Safran’s competitors and customers if the operation could strengthen its market power, according to a source close to the file in Reuters.
