(Reuters) – The French group in financial difficulties Carmat announced on Monday making a declaration of cessation of payments and requesting the opening of a receivership procedure with the Tribunal of Economic Affairs of Versailles.

Pending the court’s decision, Carmat asked Euronext the suspension of his scholarship course from June 30, 2025 before the markets, according to a statement from the group.

The designer of the total artificial heart Aeson adds, however, to expect that the quotes resume after the court’s decision is rendered and communicated to the market.

“It will be up to the court, during an hearing expected in the next few days, to rule on this request,” according to the press release.

Carmat had announced earlier in June to face a critical financial situation with a risk of cessation of payments at the end of June, due to the lack of additional funding, adding an immediate need to secure around 3.5 million euros

“Despite the continuation of its efforts, the company has failed to secure such a cash supplement or new funding,” she said on Monday.
