His experiences as a child defined him with influences from singers such as Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Becaud, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and later Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand.

The battle with cancer

As the singer had said, “sometimes you have a power. I’m a coward but I do not know what happened. I was not immediately told that I had cancer. I was in pain and they saw that I had colon cancer. I was told to do a colonoscopy and I did not. And when they operated on me, they told me that I was in the 4th stage and that I was 6 months old. My friends and relatives were with me. They did not tell me. It seems that I saved her. I was not afraid… I do not know how this happens».

The news of the death was announced through her personal Twitter account by his good friend and his wife Mimi Plessa, Loukilla Plessa-Carrer.
