Patisia: One of the injured ended up – Those involved have been identified

A total of 7 people are involved in the case. Three are now dead and three injured, two of whom are police officers.

It ended up being one of them 4 wounded of the bloody episode that unfolded in Kato Patisia and Agioi Anargyrou. A total of 7 people were involved in the bloody incident, while the perpetrator was killed in an exchange of fire with the police. Two police officers were injured and taken to military hospital 401.

It all started from an armed clash between two groups, of Albanian origin, on Kourtidou Street in Kato Patisia. The people involved in the incident are marked for drug cases.

The two groups started exchanging fire in the middle of the street in the presence of people. One person succeeded and killed the driver of the other vehicle and injured a second. The passenger got out of the car and was dragged by a passing vehicle. This is also the person that ended up this morning.

The attacker then abandoned his car and stole another, taking its owner out of the car and headed to Agioi Anargyros. There he entered a bar and committed an armed robbery. Officers located the suspect vehicle and signaled it to stop. He not only did not stop but also pulled out a gun. He shot and wounded two police officers, one in the shoulder and one in the leg. The police retaliated and the assailant fell dead.

What an eyewitness reported

An eyewitness reported hearing approx 6-7 shots and how he saw a young man with a gun in his hand stop a black SUV, pull the driver out and disappear.

Takis Theodorikakos: “A big thank you to the two police officers who acted with self-sacrifice to save citizens in Patisia”

The Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos went to the 401 Military Hospital of Athens. There, in the presence of the Chief of the Greek Police, Lt. General Konstantinos Koumas, he spoke with the two injured policemen and was informed by the doctors about their state of health.

Then Mr. Theodorikakos made the following statement: “We spoke with our two policemen, together with the Chief of the Greek Police. The doctors inform us that he is out of danger. I want to publicly say a big thank you to the two police officers because they acted with self-sacrifice to save the citizens of Patisia from the two criminals.

We were informed of the news as we were next to the Immediate Action police officers at the Police Station of Agios Panteleimon, in a difficult neighborhood, where policing measures are being strengthened every day more and more in order to support the citizens’ sense of security.

Again, I thank the two police officers for their professionalism and determination.”
