It is noted that the two men, aged 28 and 30, from North Macedonia, who had visited Halkidiki on holiday, were swimming in the sea in the area “sand-tongued Mytis”, when they were swept away by currents due to bad weather.
He was with them a 25-year-old friend of theirs, who managed to be rescued by the Coast Guard, which immediately launched a large mobilization to locate the missing.
The authorities were immediately notified, who at the first light of day resumed the search to locate them.
An Air Force helicopter, two Coast Guard vessels, two floating vessels participated in the operation, while private vehicles and volunteer rescuers are in the area to help with the search.

“Yesterday afternoon, the Port Authorities of Thessaloniki and Neo Moudania were informed about the incident of three missing bathers in the “POSEIDI” marine area of ​​Halkidiki.
Under the coordination of the Single Coordination Center for Search and Rescue of the LS-EL.AKT., searches were started in the said area by two LS-EL.AKT patrol boats. and seven ships sailing by sea, while an Air Force helicopter attempted from the air. Also participating in the investigations were patrol vehicles from the Hellenic Rescue Team and volunteer rescuers from the Hellenic Rescue Service.
A patrol boat of the Port Authority of Moudanion identified and rounded up a 25-year-old man from the three missing and transported him to the “NEAS SKIONIS” fishing shelter, from where he was picked up by an EKAV crew in order to be taken to the Halkidiki General Hospital for medical treatment.
