At least 18 people were killedn yesterday Saturday evening at South Africa in two separate incidents with bar shootingsit was announced today by the police.
In the city of Pietermaritzburg, in the eastern part of South Africa, four people were killed and eight others were injured in a shooting incident that took place at 20:30 (local time) at a bar in the city.

Twelve people were hit by bullets: two died on the spot and two others succumbed to their injuries later in hospital. Eight more are still hospitalized.
The dead are between 30 and 45 years old.

A little earlier it was known that 14 people killed in Soweto bar shooting, near Johannesburg.
Police received a call shortly after midnight. “We reached the spot, twelve people were dead with bullet wounds“, explained Nonhlanhla Kubeka, a local police official.
Eleven injured people were taken to hospital and two of them succumbed shortly afterwards, he added.
According to the commander of the Orlando police station, Soweto district, the perpetrators of the attack “arrived at the scene and shot at the people who were having fun”.
As Kubeka explained, police are still at the scene and have launched an investigation into the incident, although no arrests have yet been made.
