Athens Flying Week: On September 17 and 18 in Tanagra

She celebrates her 10th anniversary this year Athens Flying Week, which is organized on September 17 and 18 at Tanagra Air Base. Greece’s largest air show includes entries from Greece and abroad.

The eyes are expected to attract Greek and French Rafale. Spectators will have the opportunity to see up close the new state-of-the-art Air Force aircraft taking off from the Tanagra runway and flying into the Greek skies.

Among the entries that stand out, it is also included the plane from TV’s “Top Gun”, the Swiss F-18 fighter that is famous for its power and maneuverability. Visitors will be able to see the F-18 Hornet up close and have their photo taken with the fighter.

Also taking part in the Air Show are the F-15 Strike Eagles of the Royal Saudi Air Force, while in Jordan, the Royal Jordanian Falcons demonstration flock is coming. Joining them is the C-130 of the Royal Jordanian Air Force with a special anniversary decoration.

In addition, the unique Warbirds, the historic Vought F4U-4 of the Flying Bulls and the legendary Supermarine Spitfire MJ755 of the Greek Air Force will take the viewers back to the time and era of the Second World War.

Additionally, they participate Flying Bulls but also the Red Bull helicopter, while for the first time in the air and on the Tanagra track, the British Pu-1 helicopter will make its appearance as well as the imposing Chinook.

At the static exhibition of Athens Flying Week you will be able to take pictures with the unique Eurofighter Typhoon and Tornado of the German Air Force as well as the PC-7 Pilatus from Austria.

Of course, the flying vehicles of the Greek Armed Forces with impressive crossings and air battles could not be absent.

Demonstration groups F-16 Zeus and T-6A TECHAN II Daedalus, the Rafale and the Greek Supermarine Spitfire will proceed to demonstrate their capabilities.

So are Air Force Tencam P-2002JF, F-4E Phantom II, Mirage 2000-5, AS 332 C1 Super Puma, PZL M18 Dromader, Canadair CL-215GR and CL-415, S70B Aegean Hawk, AB 212 ASW , and the Navy’s P-3 Orion and the Army’s UH-1H Huey, CH-47D Chinook, AH-64A+D Apache, NH-90, and OH-58D Kiowa Warrior.

The Super Puma and BK-117 of the Fire Brigade will also be present. At the 10th Athens Flying Week, the public will see before their eyes an impressive Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) exercise by the Special Warfare Command of the Greek Air Force.

And, of course, like every year, the spectators will enjoy the RC KAVALA Acro Team, Eric and the Aviation Photo Crew with the colorful Skyvan, Skydive Attica with free jumps and the Italian champion Luca Bertossio with the spectacular fireworks show.
