With dangerous maneuvers, a vessel of the Turkish Coast Guard harassed a lifeguard of the Coast Guard the day before yesterday morning, within Greek territorial waters, west of Farmakonisi. The announcement of the Coast Guard on the incident follows:

In the morning hours on 25-07-2022, during a patrol of the LS-EL.AKT lifeboat, in the sea area west of Farmakonisi within Greek territorial waters, a patrol boat of the Turkish Coast Guard harassed by carrying out dangerous maneuvers its boat above Leros Port Authority.

It is noted that the lifeboat L.S.-EL.AKT. was performing an ordered target recognition service in the wider maritime area, as a Turkish Coast Guard vessel had entered Greek territorial waters and was not responding to VHF calls.
