Abduction of a 7-year-old in Rethymno: “I had good intentions”, claimed the 47-year-old

A deadline to apologize tomorrow, Tuesday, to the competent investigative authority of Rethymnon, was requested and received by 47 years old a foreigner who according to the case file is hotel worker in Rethymnonwho was arrested yesterday for abduction of a 7-year-old.

During the preliminary investigation, the Belarusian woman reportedly claimed that she had good intentions towards the child and just wanted, as she claimed, to pamper and take care of him.

As it states Cretalivethe woman allegedly spotted the child playing casually in the surrounding area and, lured by a soft drink from a Cretan company, managed to lead him to her room and keep him there for an hour, maybe more.

The child managed to “escape” and return to his Greek parents, when he was left alone in the room as the 47-year-old had to return to her post.

According to the latest information, from the side of her defense, the child’s parents have reportedly stated that they do not want the 47-year-old to be prosecuted. It is also reported that the woman did not work at the hotel but was hosted by a friend of hers who works there.

However, it should be noted that, based on the file filed by the Rethymno Police, the 47-year-old woman appears as an employee and for this reason statements were taken from other employees as well as the Director.
