Intervention of the authorities for child abuse in Rhodes – Parental custody was removed

A total of five children who were allegedly abused in the environment where they lived, were removed by prosecutor’s order and transferred to special structures in another region of the country.

These are two different cases which – according to information from “Rodiaka” have to do with small minor children, who allegedly did not have the care and protection they deserved in the family environment where they lived.

In particular, the first case concerns the abuse (not sexual) of three children who are siblings, aged from months to 7 years who lived with their mother. According to the complaint made by the children’s grandmother and grandfather, the mother abused (not sexually) the children, as a result of which there was an immediate intervention by the District Attorney of Rhodes, by order of which the children have now been transferred to a structure in another area of our country where they live safely. Based on the same information, the mother is said to be facing serious psychological problems.

The second case, which is also being investigated at the criminal level, concerns two other siblings aged up to seven years as well. The children, according to the complaint made by their grandmother, are alleged to have suffered sexual abuse for this and by prosecutor’s order have been transferred to a special accommodation structure in another region of the country.

However, according to the same information from “Rodiaka”, both cases are being examined by the competent prosecuting authorities with great care in order to establish whether a criminal offense has actually been committed against the minors and by whom, so that the legal procedure can be initiated.
