According to information, the defendant denied that he was jealous of the unfortunate Nicoletta, while he mentioned that he had found the apartment in Peristeri and that he and the 17-year-old’s mother paid the rent half and half.

He was remanded in custody the young man – of Pakistani origin – accused of murder of 17-year-old Nicoleta in Peristeri.

His pre-trial detention was the result of an agreement between the 25th regular investigator of Athens and the competent prosecutor.

According to information, in his statement the accused he described his acquaintance with the young lady and attempted to justify his heinous act by claiming that it all happened during a fight.

He even tried to give a religious character to his confrontation with the victimclaiming that during the fateful conversation the question of how the unfortunate girl would get married was raised – according to his own claim – asked him to be baptized a Christian. However, for his heinous act and his hard crime, he could not convince the judicial authorities, as after the crime, the first thing he did was to organize his escaperemoving all the things from the shared house they had with the victim and leaving for Thessaloniki.

The accused according to information he denied that he was jealous of the unfortunate Nicolettawhile he mentioned that he had found the apartment in Peristeri and they were paying the rent half and half with the 17-year-old’s mother.

Earlier, the lawyer representing the accused resigned and a new advocate was appointed ex officio in whose presence he apologized to the 25th regular investigator of Athens.
