The catfish bit at 11pm and it took a 2 hour fight to get it out of the water.

Two fishermen managed to catch the largest gouliano, which has been caught in Plastira lake with a rod and one of the largest in Greece, on the evening of Friday, August 26.

As mentioned in KarditsaLive one of them, namely Mr. Ilias Halimourdasthe catfish bit at 11pm and it took a 2 hour fight to get it out of the water.

Its length was 2.40 meters but it was not possible to weigh it because there were no means and staying for an additional time out of the water would endanger its life.

So Mr. Il. Halimourdas and Mr. K. Filippou chose not to risk it and the goulian was released into the welcoming waters of the lake immediately after the photo shoot. However, it is considered certain that his weight was well over 80 kg, maybe even 90.

The two fellow citizens, in addition to their professional involvement in fishing, are members of a fishing club that deals with the sporting part of fishing, and everything that comes out of the lake is returned to it.
