The Government accepts the unanimous recommendation for schools of the Expert Committee of the Ministry of Health, which met today
The recommendation of the Committee of Experts for the optional use of masks in schools as well as the performance of self-tests by students was finally accepted.
The Ministries of Education and Religious Affairs and Health issued a joint statement after the end of today’s meeting of the expert committee on the coronavirus citing the what will apply in schools
In this context:
- The use of a protective mask remains optional.
- As a general guideline, when a child shows symptoms they stay home (as with any viral infection).
- Self-diagnosis is recommended in case of symptoms.
- In case of a positive case, the isolation measures applicable to the general population are applied, i.e. stay in isolation for at least five days and avoid contact with other people. After five days of isolation and if there are no symptoms or the symptoms improve after five days with a complete subsidence of the fever for a 24-hour period without the use of antipyretics, isolation is stopped. Return to school with mandatory use of a high respiratory protection mask (N95 or KN95 or FFP2) or a double mask for at least another five days from the end of isolation.
- Observance of hand hygiene.
- Sufficient ventilation of the premises, in accordance with the applicable instructions.
- Sanitary measures will be reviewed in the event of a change in epidemiological data.
