A European arrest warrant was pending against him from the Cyprus authorities

Following a methodical investigation, police officers of the Investigations Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate proceeded to locate and arrest an internationally persecuted person, making appropriate use of information from the Cyprus authorities.

In the context of an organized operation carried out yesterday (30-08-2022) in the area of ​​Kordelio, the 59-year-old citizen was identified and arrested, against whom a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Authorities of the Republic of Cyprus, for the offenses of securing goods with misrepresentation, forgery, fraud and money laundering.

In particular, the 59-year-old in April 2019 created a fake authorization with the information of an elderly woman, the owner of a property in Cyprus and by using this (authorization), he defrauded a company, achieving the sale of the property for the amount of (435,000) euros, an amount of which was appropriated.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent judicial authorities.
