They have also made a call for 19:00 in the evening. At the point beyond OPPI, there are platoons of MAT and OPKE

The University Institutions Protection Teams (UPPI) are making their first appearance today at the EKPA facilities on the Campus.

As reported by police sources, in collaboration with the rector’s authorities of EKPA, patrols will begin with the aim of protecting the infrastructure outside the campus as well as in places where there is delinquency.

It should be noted that the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, stated that since last Friday, the OPPI have been at the disposal of the four university institutions (EKUA, NTUA, Athens University of Economics and Business Administration, and AUTH) and already, the heads of the groups have visited the premises of the universities and they are working closely with the rector’s authorities on what their obligations will be once they take up their duties, based on the universities’ security plans.

At the AUTH, it is noted that special gates (turnstiles) have already been placed in two places, which are guarded by the police while two MAT platoons are on a permanent basis inside the university premises where they will remain until the construction of the library is completed.
