The digital maternity allowance (pregnancy-maternity), a new online service, is abolished today, which removes the obligation of pregnant insured persons to come to the local branches two to three times, to submit a series of supporting documents for receiving the allowance, such as announced the management of e-EFKA.
The implementation of the new procedure for granting maternity allowance (pregnancy-maternity) will cover in the first phase 95% of the beneficiaries of e-EFKA insured and their employers. The remaining 5%, which concerns special categories of insured, will be served by the local addresses of e-EFKA, until they join the 2nd phase within 2022.
With the digitization of the process, all the required supporting documents for the maternity allowance are obtained automatically, through the interconnection of e-EFKA with the Citizens’ Register and the Electronic Prescribing of IDIKA SA. In this way, as pointed out in an announcement of e-EFKA, the obligation to visit the local branches is abolished.
It is estimated that each year 50,000 maternity benefits are awarded, which required the physical attendance of the insured two to three times in the local branches. The physical visit to the branches will be completely abolished from 7/1/2022, while reducing the workload of the employees of the Organization in the branches.
Payments for benefits will be made by direct credit to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Payments are made every 15 days.
The access to the new service is easy and is done through the website www.efka.gov.gr. The insured enter the service, entering the personal taxisnet codes and submit their application for granting maternity allowance (pregnancy-maternity) to the new service “Electronic Application for Maternity Allowance” or through the website of e-EFKA. gov.gr), selecting: Electronic Services → Employees, Self-employed, El. Professionals either through the Unified Digital Portal of Public Administration (gov.gr) in the section Family-> Birth.
Finally, in the 2nd phase, which will be completed in 2022, the remaining 5% will be included, which concerns special categories of insured, ie a) insured persons subject to article 39 par. 9 of law 4387/2016, salaried lawyers and insured of t. IKA-ETAM (exclusive nurses, paid with a trademark, employed in construction projects, tour guides, resin collectors, etc.).
