Notice of the gathering and damage to its turnstiles AUTH issued the police, stressing that their forces were at a distance, after prior consultation with the rectory authorities.

As reported by Policepeople with their faces covered, damaged a total of seven turnstiles.

The announcement in more detail:

“This morning, and while a gathering-protest of approximately one hundred and fifty (150) people was in progress outside the building of Administration of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.P.Th)following the initiative of student associations and autonomous organizations, around 13.05, a group of those gathered suddenly entered the central Administration building, causing damage to a total of seven controlled entry machines.

It is noted that all the perpetrators had their facial features covered, while, after prior communication with the Rector’s authorities of AUTH, the police forces were at a distance from the scene.

It should be noted, moreover, that the presence of police forces on University premises is always carried out in consultation with the relevant Rectory Authorities.

The police forces are already carrying out intensive searches to identify the perpetrators, while a preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Thessaloniki Security Directorate”.
