Four sailing boats have already been engulfed in flames in the marina of Gouvia, when, for an as yet unknown reason, a 20-meter sailboat that was docked, shortly after 4 pm, caught fire which spread very quickly to the adjacent boats.
A large force of the Fire Department rushed to the area with five fire engines, while help is also expected from Igoumenitsa.
Firefighters are fighting to remove boats to prevent the fire from spreading further.
It should be noted that the marina of Gouvia is one of the largest in Greece, as ehas a capacity of 960 boatswith fixed and floating piers.
