The award concerns the 1st prize in the category “Innovative Health Solutions” for the Public Sector
The Ministry of Digital Governance announces its award Social Security Electronic Governance (IDIKA SA) from the World Association of Innovation and Technology Services WITSA.
IDIKA, a supervised body of the Ministry of Digital Governance, was awarded for the application MyHealth, as part of the WITSA World Conference on Innovation and Technology. In particular, the distinction concerns the 1st prize in the “Innovative Health Solutions” category for the Public Sector. The award was received by the President and CEO of IDIKA Niki Tsuma.
The WITSA World Innovation and Technology Conference was held for the year 2022 in Malaysia, with the participation of more than 4,000 delegates from over 80 countries.
The MyHealth app was implemented by IDIKA and was put into operation in August 2021 with the aim of developing into the Electronic Health File. Through the application, citizens have access to the history of medical prescriptions, referrals and certificates issued for their AMKA. Additional data will gradually be added to the application, so that users can access all their data in one place, quickly, easily and reliably. So far, more than 270,000 citizens have installed the application on their mobile phones.
The Minister of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis stated: “Many congratulations to IDIKA and its executives for the great distinction. This award goes to the people who worked – and still work – day and night to get MyHealth up and running and constantly evolving.
This work at the forefront of digital health services is visible to Greek citizens, who have already integrated the new digital tools into their daily lives. Now this work is recognized internationally as good practice and this fills us with pride and confidence, because it proves that Greece has the people, the plan, the structures and everything required to be at the forefront of digital innovation.”
The President and Managing Director of IDIKA Niki Tsouma said: “I am very proud of this world first of the country and I thank the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Kyriakos Pierrakakis for his undivided support and trust in the work of IDIKA. The success is also due to the cooperation with the contractors and the efficiency of the executives of IDIKA”.
