Acharnes: Leaders of a gang of minors aged 13 and 15: They robbed and robbed car drivers, pedestrians and delivery drivers

They were arrested five minor citizens aged between 12 and 15 years members of the criminal group that systematically committed robberies and thefts in the area of ​​Agia Sotira Acharnon, in the context of a coordinated organized operation that took place in the morning hours of 15-9-2022 in the area of ​​Agia Sotira Acharnon, by police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Western Attica, of Department of Security of Acharna and OPKE. of the Attica Security Directorate.

Against those arrested and four identified wanted gang members, aged from 11 to 15 years olda case file was filed for the establishment of a gang whose members commit serial and consecutive thefts and robberies, as well as a violation of the law on the evidentiary value of police identification cards.

They were also identified an additional five nationals who aided the gang’s criminal activity as accomplices.

How did they act?

In the context of investigating incidents of robberies and thefts in the aforementioned area with a similar mode of action, characterized by the manifestation of violence against the victims, the action of a gang of minors with uninterrupted activity, a specific structure and distribution of alternating roles among its members was revealed and certified.

A leading role was held by two members of the group (a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old), who took over the “operational reins” of running the gang from previous adult members who had been arrested and imprisoned at an earlier time.

In terms of their modus operandi, the gang members targeted and immobilized passing motorists, either by appearing suddenly in the middle of the road, having previously deployed invisibly to the scene, or by placing various obstacles on the roadway.

Afterwards, the members of the gang surrounded the vehicle and forcibly took personal belongings and sums of money from the driver.

In some cases, victims of their criminal activity fell victim to taxi drivers, whom they called, either by phone or through applications, as well as passing distributors.

The same methodology of the surprise attack by a group of gang members was also followed at the expense of passing pedestrians.

From the preliminary investigation of the Western Attica Security Sub-Directorate, the following were found out:

 -17- robberies against passing drivers,
 -7- robberies against taxi drivers,
 -3- robberies against passing pedestrians,
 -1- robbery against students outside the school complex,
 -8- thefts from taxi and vehicle drivers,
 -3- thefts from passing pedestrians,
 -1- theft from home and
 -1- theft from a school building

Those arrested were taken to the Athens Juvenile Prosecutor.
