by

The suicide of the 63-year-old has “numbed” the local community and the Church of Crete.

A 62-year-old man, who was an executive of the Academy for a number of years, was found dead, last night, inside the Patriarchal Supreme Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete in Heraklion, in the Bedevi area.

Police forces immediately arrived at the scene and are investigating the case, having – so far – ruled out, according to information, the possibility of criminal activity.

As Cretalive reports, the professor ended his life, on Tuesday night, by hanging himself from a ladder, inside the premises of the Supreme Ecclesiastical Academy.

His lifeless body was reportedly spotted by another professor.

It is reported that he had been missing for several hours and his family, who knew he was in trouble, searched frantically for him and the police were also notified.

His relatives and the police allegedly went to the school almost at the same time, but unfortunately it was already too late, as he had already proceeded to the appointed step.
