Honda HR-V with advanced hybrid technology

by

By Aris Galanopoulos

The new HR-V e: HEV adopts the advanced hybrid technology with two Honda electric motors, which achieves a combination of efficient operation and immediate response. The sub-compact SUV frames the range of models e: HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) of Honda for the first time.

With distinctive forward-facing lines and smooth surfaces, the next-generation HR-V e: HEV embraces the simple, clean, modern aesthetic we’ve seen recently in new Honda models.

The compact shape with coupe influences remains functional as well as attractive: although familiar, it is fascinating and attracts attention with its youthful character and the confidence of an SUV. By increasing the distance from the ground by 10 mm and reducing the height of the roof by 20 mm compared to the previous model, the designers achieved an aesthetically pleasing result.

Inside the new HR-V, every design element is intended to create a spacious and airy environment that connects passengers with the outside world, with levels of comfort and practicality unmatched in the sub-compact SUV class.

Honda’s proven e: HEV hybrid technology offers an enjoyable driving experience with instant response and impressive fuel economy. It consists of two powerful electric motors connected to an i-VTEC 1.5 lt gasoline engine, while offering a maximum power of 96 kW (131 hp) and a maximum torque of 253 Nm.
The CO2 emissions of the efficient hybrid system start from 122 g / km (WLTP) and the consumption from 5.4 l / 100 km (WLTP), while the acceleration from 0-100 km / h of the HR-V is achieved in 10 , 6 seconds.

The new HR-V will be available in Europe from the end of 2021, while the Japanese firm aims to electrify all its European mainstream models by 2022.
