The elderly woman and her son, who appeared in court yesterday, both agreed to try to “make it up” through the criminal mediation process.

However, before they could leave, the 44-year-old declared that his mother was crazy, as a result of which the woman was taken to the Hospital to be examined by a psychiatrist.

The episode between the 44-year-old and his mother took place on Wednesday afternoon at their home, when the man asked his mother for €500 to leave the village and the woman, who claims to have given him €1200 a few days ago, spend on gambling.

Then the 44-year-old grabbed her by the hair and threatened to burn her.

According to information, the defendant testified that he worked all summer in a restaurant run by his mother in the village, she did not pay him and they argued when he asked her for the money.

The woman testified that he swore at her, pulled her hair and threatened her when they argued about money while she was at their home.
In the Court, the 44-year-old stated that he has been having problems with his mother for six years, he wants to leave the village and asks her to give him what he is entitled to.

The 72-year-old said she wanted to make up with her son before she left, and eventually the two sides agreed to go to criminal mediation, after being informed of the process, the statements they would make and the sessions they would have to attend.

Finally, the Court was adjourned until October 11, at which time even if they have not made statements of criminal mediation, it will be postponed again until the process is completed, otherwise the 44-year-old will be tried, while the doctors decided that the elderly woman does not need hospitalization.
