The amendment of the Ministries of Finance and Health, which is submitted to the Parliament, provides for the extraordinary financial support to the health workers, but also for the reduction of the validity of the disease certificate.

As mentioned in the first article, all medical, nursing, administrative and other personnel serving in all hospitals of the National Health System (ESY), military hospitals (including NIMTS) and university hospitals, National Public Health Organization (EODY), National
Emergency Center (EKAB), in health centers, in rural clinics, Onassis Cardiac Center, Papageorgiou General Hospital, Thera General Hospital for Health Units SA (AEMY), Special Health Center Korydallos Prisoner Unit and National Blood Donation Center (EKEA) is paid for 2021 extraordinary financial support equal to half of the paid monthly basic salary.
According to the amendment, the allowance is granted in full, provided that the beneficiary was paid for the entire period from January 2021 until November 30, 2021 and is paid with the December 2021 salary.
In cases where a salary has been paid for a period shorter than the above, a portion of the extraordinary financial assistance is paid in proportion to that corresponding to the pay period of the beneficiary.
Excluded are those who are absent on any leave for the entire period of time, with the exception of sick leave and those who have been suspended. In case of lifting the suspension, the beneficiary receives part of the allowance.
The duration of the disease certificate is 3 months
As far as the illness certificate is concerned, it is foreseen to reduce their validity period from six to 3 months.
Excluded are those who have proven health reasons that prevent the vaccine from being given.
Public and private sector employees who have completed the coronavirus vaccination or have become ill within the last 90 days are required to show the head of the unit where they serve or their employer, respectively, the European digital certificate with information on the condition of the natural person-holder with regard to coronavirus vaccination or disease or a vaccination certificate or a positive diagnostic test.
