A man was arrested in Rethymnon who stole, according to ELAS, yesterday 11.10.2022 in the afternoon, from the exterior of a jewelry store, various pieces of jewelry with a total monetary value of 3,400 euros.
From the police investigation and preliminary investigation by the Rethymnon Security and after appropriate utilization of evidence, it emerged that the specific man committed the theft and then sold part of the stolen goods to a pawn shop, where they were found and confiscated.
The man, of Greek origin, was located by the police and in his possession were found the sum of 200 euros, a wristwatch with its packaging, a pair of earrings, a leather wallet and an electronic cigarette which were confiscated as proceeds of crime, as it turned out that they were bought with part of the money from the sale of the stolen jewelry.
All of the jewelry was found and attributed to the victim.
In addition, a small amount of cannabis was found and confiscated in his possession and a case file was filed against him for violations of the drug legislation.
The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Rethymnon Security Directorate.
