Rape of a 12-year-old girl – Lawyer Michou – Sofianidis: I was obliged to take over – Serious indications of the involvement of other persons

Vassilis Chronopoulos, the appointed lawyer of the two defendants after their remand, spoke of very serious indications of the involvement of other persons in the case of the 12-year-old who was a victim of rape and prostitution in Colonos.

The lawyer initially emphasized that he did not wish to undertake the defense of Ilias Michos and Yiannis Sofianidis, but he was obliged as no one was undertaking them.

“I was obliged to take over since I knew the case and the interrogation had to take place today and the presence of a lawyer was required,” he said characteristically.

Regarding the accusations, he said that Elias Michos and Yiannis Sofianidis admitted that there was sexual contact with the minor, but they deny all the other accusations attributed to them and respected the right to remain silent.

The first defendant respected his right to remain silent until the investigative file is completed so that he can say what he wants to say and the truth can be proven, he noted indicatively and added:

“As a statement, what I can do from the material of the case file so far is that what has come out in relation to what has actually been done is very far,” he said.

Himself, while already the girl’s mother has been arrestedconfirmed that from their testimony and from evidence in the case file, the involvement of a person from the family’s wider environment emerged, while he spoke of contradictions and the addition of relevant evidence for the involvement of other persons.

“There are very serious indications of the involvement of other persons as well,” he pointed out.

According to APE-MPE, the lawyer stated, among other things, that “the 53-year-old said some things in general about the charge, he accepted what was due to him and what he really did – for the rest, until the case file is completed, he does not want to say anything…” he also mentioned while adding that the second defendant apologized.

Counsel: What consent are you talking about now? For a 12 year old? The only person who should be in trouble right now is the child who has suffered tremendous damage and needs to be protected. But the adults involved in all that has been done must be held accountable – and there are quite a few involved.

What is apparent so far is that there isn’t some kind of circuit, it’s individual cases.

So far there is no circuit, there is no or any organized action as it has been presented. This remains to be proven by the other elements that will be included in the discography.
