Spira “looted” shops in Attica: Two arrests in Mykonos and Acharnes – Their loot is 1 million euros – See photos and videos

How they operated – Bullets, a knife, a number of mobile phones, a safe, a pickaxe and motorcycle keys were found in the searches

In the afternoon hours of 11-10-2022, in Acharnes and on the island of Mykonos, two citizens, 21 and 23 years old, members of a gang that committed burglaries and thefts from shops, in areas of Attica, were arrested by police officers of the Property Crimes Department of the Security Directorate Attica. Their 22-year-old local accomplice has been identified and is being sought.

As it emerged from the investigation, since February 2022, the criminal activity of the two arrested persons had been established, who had set up and joined a criminal group, whose activity extended to break-ins and thefts from shops in areas of Attica.

How did they act?

Regarding their modus operandi, they went to the shops they had targeted, using their business vehicles and after breaking the facade or a window of the shops in an unknown way, they entered them and took away a lot of valuables and money.

Because the shops were located in densely populated areas, with constant pedestrian and vehicle traffic, the perpetrators used distinct roles in order to avoid arrest.

The total amount obtained by the gang from its action exceeds 1,000,000 euros.

What did the investigations find?

From the searches carried out on the perpetrators and their homes, the following were found and confiscated: -38- 12 mm cartridges, -1- knife, a number of mobile phones, a safe, iron bars and motorcycle keys.

From the preliminary investigation so far, -2- cases of break-ins and thefts in shops in Kifissia and Peristeri have been discovered.

Those arrested, with the case against him, were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Athens.
